The Famous Royal Navy Volunteer is a craft beer and cider pub located on the historic King Street in the city centre of Bristol.
Nicknamed “The Volley”, the pub is housed in a 17th century Grade II* listed building and has been a public house since at least 1673.
Our pub has a traditional English pub feel while serving modern and traditional English beers, ales and ciders.
We have 36 lines of craft beer, cask ale and cider, and we work closely with some of the UK’s best local & independent breweries and distilleries to keep those lines full.
We stock lagers, IPAs, pale ales, stouts and bitters, as well as red, brown, amber and golden ales.
As a specialist craft beer pub we have a selection of sour beers and English saisons, as well as a fridge full of small batch, mixed fermentation, bottle conditioned beers and ciders.
We take pride in our kitchen, which serves proper pub food 7 days a week.
If you want a club sandwich on your lunch break, chicken wings with your friends on Friday evening, or traditional Sunday Roast, we have you covered.
We have vegan and gluten free items available, and you can see our food menus here.
Our Sunday Lunch is famous, and you can book a table by clicking here.
You can also book food for any day of the week with our online bookings portal, by sending an email to [email protected] or by calling us on 01179 118626.
The Volley has two function rooms for hire, as well as a games room.

All of our events spaces can be booked with a bartender, and our function room is equipped with AV equipment.
In our games room (which is available for hire) you can play pool, darts, table football, and also shuffleboard, which you can play on our full-sized shuffleboard table.
